One of the most distinctive mobile suits from New Mobile Report Gundam Wing, Epyon swaps conventional ranged weaponry for an uncompromising close-combat arsenal built around its enormous Beam Sword and articulated Heat Rod.
Bandai's modern Real Grade interpretation combines Epyon's unmistakable crimson armour and sweeping wings with a completely new internal design, extensive articulation and an original transformation inspired by a two-headed pterosaur.
Modern Real Grade Engineering
Epyon was designed specifically to allow the completed model to handle its oversized Beam Sword naturally. The torso features multiple axes of movement, while a locking hip mechanism provides additional stability for wide and aggressive stances.
Additional articulation through the wrists, forearms and shoulders allows Epyon to raise the Beam Sword in two-handed poses without the armour fighting against the movement. Even the knee armour has been engineered to move with the joint, allowing natural kneeling positions.
The wings incorporate linked movement with adjustable mounting positions, while the transformed MA Mode introduces an RG-exclusive pterosaur-inspired appearance with articulated heads and neck sections.

How to Build
As a Real Grade kit, Gundam Epyon packs a substantial amount of engineering into its 1/144 scale. A sharp pair of hobby nippers and careful nub cleanup are recommended, particularly around the highly visible red armour and wing sections.
The colour-separated parts give Epyon its distinctive appearance straight from the runners, while panel lining and the included Realistic Decals can bring out considerably more of the mechanical detail.
Like other modern Bandai Gunpla kits, construction is snap-fit, so glue and painting are not normally required.
