Bocata's Gelgoog Joins the GQuuuuuuX Line

Build Bocata's distinctive gMS-01 Gelgoog from Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX with this HG 1/144 model kit from Bandai Spirits. Recreated in Bocata's on-screen light grey, green and white colour scheme, this version gives the familiar Gelgoog name a completely different appearance within the GQuuuuuuX universe. The official Gundam site identifies the gMS-01 as a mass-produced Zeon machine developed using data from the Gundam, with Bocata's machine specifically repainted for Clan Battle.

Despite its smaller 1/144 scale, the kit packs in plenty of articulation, weapon options and unusual details, making it a particularly characterful addition to the GQuuuuuuX Gunpla range.

Flexible Weapons & Unique HG Gimmicks

Bocata's Gelgoog comes equipped with two beam rifles and a beam saber, with the weapons designed so they can be equipped in either hand. The saber includes two beam-effect blades and can be configured with a blade at both ends of the hilt for a distinctive double-ended setup.

The rear thrusters are independently movable for more dynamic posing, while one of the kit's more unusual features is its grappling hook, reproduced using flexible lead wire rather than a rigid plastic effect.

How to Build

As a High Grade 1/144 kit, Bocata's Gelgoog offers a considerably more straightforward build than Bandai's RG and MG ranges while retaining good articulation and mechanical detail.

The parts are colour moulded and use Bandai's snap-fit construction, so painting and glue aren't normally required. A good pair of hobby nippers and basic nub cleanup will give you a clean straight build, while panel lining can bring out more of the mechanical detail across the armour and weapons.

The kit also includes a sticker sheet and the lead wire required for the grappling hook.
