1/550 MAX-03 Adzam - 1981 Vintage Original (Red Logo)
M'Quve’s Secret Weapon: A Relic of the Odessa Campaign
Experience the industrial terror of the early One Year War. At Dragoon Gaming, we have secured a rare vintage original 1/550 Adzam. Originally released in November 1981 as part of the "Best Mecha Collection" (#26), this kit is a significant piece of mecha history. This is the authentic first-era release, featuring the Red Bandai Logo and the classic matte-finish box art prized by collectors of 1980s hobby ephemera.
Authentic 1980s "Old Kit" (Kyu-kitto) Engineering
The Adzam is one of the most unconventional designs in the Universal Century—a massive, saucer-shaped Mobile Armor equipped with "Adzam Leaders" to roast enemy mobile suits. This 1/550 scale model represents the dawn of the Gunpla boom, requiring plastic cement (glue) and paint to complete. Its distinctive purple-and-grey palette and landing gear struts capture the retro-sci-fi aesthetic of the original 1979 anime.
Why this 1981 Vintage Original is a Must-Have:
-
Authentic Red Logo Box: A verified 1981-run release with the original matte box texture.
-
Miniature Gundam Included: Includes a tiny 1/550 scale RX-78-2 Gundam figure, allowing you to recreate the iconic battle in the dust clouds of Odessa.
-
Unbuilt & Complete: All parts remain on their original 1981 runners in pristine, unbuilt condition—a true time capsule for your collection.
-
1/550 Scale Accuracy: Perfectly scaled to display alongside other vintage Mobile Armor kits like the Zakrello or Big Zam.
-
Investment Grade: As #26 in the "Best Mecha Collection," well-preserved "Red Logo" Adzams are increasingly rare in the UK market.
How to build:
As a traditional 1980s kit, the Adzam requires hobby glue. At Dragoon Gaming, we recommend Tamiya Extra Thin Cement for a clean, professional bond. For the anime-accurate look, we suggest a lavender or light purple spray primer followed by hand-detailing the yellow "Leader" ports and the mechanical underside.
