AK Interactive - Sandpaper Strips Grain 400 (Medium) (50 strips)
The Bridge to a Seamless Professional Finish
Refine your build with the industry standard for surface preparation. At Dragoon Gaming, the AK Sandpaper Strips Grain 400 are the most versatile abrasive in any modeler's arsenal. While coarse grits do the heavy lifting, the 400-grit strip is designed to smooth out the aggressive scratches left by 240-grit paper, finalize the removal of small nubs, and create a perfectly uniform surface ready for higher-grit polishing or primer application.
Engineered for Precision and Durability
These high-quality Grain 400 strips are specifically developed by AK Interactive for the unique challenges of plastic modeling. They offer the perfect balance of flexibility and strength, allowing you to sand around complex 1/144 scale armor curves without losing the sharp edges of your 1/100 scale Master Grade kits. The high-performance aluminum oxide abrasive is designed to last longer and resist clogging, even during intense sanding sessions.
Why Use AK 400 Grit Strips?
-
Refined Scratch Removal: The definitive grit for smoothing out the surface after initial coarse sanding.
-
Final Nub Finishing: Takes down those last fractions of a millimeter from gate marks for a flush, invisible look.
-
Primer Preparation: Creates the ideal "tooth" on plastic surfaces, ensuring your primer and paint adhere perfectly without peeling.
-
Wet & Dry Versatility: These strips are fully water-resistant. We highly recommend wet sanding to achieve a cleaner finish and eliminate airborne plastic dust.
-
Customizable Size: The long, thin strips can easily be cut into squares or triangles for reaching into tight vents and mechanical detail areas.
How to use:
After removing the bulk of a nub with 240-grit paper, use the AK 400 Grit Strip to blend the area into the surrounding plastic. At Dragoon Gaming, we suggest using light, even pressure in a consistent direction. Once the surface feels smooth to the touch and no deep scratches are visible, you can move on to 600 or 800 grit for a final polish before painting.
