AK Interactive - Sanding Sponges P500-600 Grit (6 Units)
The Professional Choice for Finishing Curved Armor
Elevate your surface preparation to a studio-grade level. At Dragoon Gaming, the AK Sanding Sponges P500-600 are the essential tool for transitioning from rough shaping to a final, scuff-free finish. While standard sandpaper can flatten out the beautiful curves of your mobile suits, these high-density flexible sponges are designed to hug the contours of 1/144 and 1/100 scale kits, ensuring every shoulder, leg, and fuel tank is perfectly smooth.
High-Density Flexibility for Complex Mecha Details
This 6-unit value pack is a staple for the modern builder's station. The P500-600 grit range is the "sweet spot" for fine-tuning your parts before applying primer or moving into high-grit polishing. Because the abrasive is mounted on a resilient foam core, it distributes pressure evenly across the plastic, preventing the "rounding off" of sharp edges while effortlessly smoothing out the micro-scratches left by coarser 400-grit tools.
Why Use AK P500-600 Sanding Sponges?
-
Dynamic Contour Hugging: Specifically engineered for the organic, rounded armor found on Zeon suits or the 2026 GQuuuuuuX series.
-
6-Unit Pro Pack: Durable, long-lasting sponges that resist tearing and can be cleaned for multiple uses.
-
Optimal Finishing Grit: Erases directional sanding marks from the 400-grit stage, leaving a soft, satin-like finish.
-
Wet & Dry Capability: These sponges are fully waterproof. At Dragoon Gaming, we recommend wet sanding with P600 to prevent friction heat and achieve a flawlessly clean surface.
-
Precision Shaping: Can be cut with hobby scissors into custom shapes to reach into tight thruster vents or complex mechanical recesses.
How to use:
After smoothing your nubs with a 400-grit sponge, use the AK P500-600 Sanding Sponge to unify the surface texture. At Dragoon Gaming, we suggest using light, overlapping strokes. If you are preparing for paint, this grit creates a smooth, high-bond surface for your primer. For "no-paint" builds, this is the final step before moving to P800-1000 grit to restore the plastic's original factory luster.
